I was so excited to read The Companion. I read it in one day and it was so good! The writing made it a very easy read and I really liked the main character. Margot is an orphan who lost her entire family in a car accident. She is relocated to an orphanage after her stay with her friend didn’t work out and she was shocked one day when she is allowed to go home to a wealthy family. Her father had saved the life of the father in her new family. She immediately senses something is quite odd and different with the household. They tell her their teenaged daughter, Agatha, has been ill and now no longer speaks. They feel Margot staying with her and being friendly with her (her companion) will help. As time goes on Margot realizes something is very wrong indeed in their house and tries to get out before it’s too late. I loved this book and recommend it highly.
