This was a breathtaking story of a young girl living in a secluded historic mansion with a middle aged couple and their young, catatonic daughter. The story starts off rather innocent with dark undertones but takes a more sinister turn towards the end. The two young girls form a friendship throughout the book and learn to understand each other and communicate. The couple’s son also makes a short appearance as a love interest. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. It has a lot of build up in the plot, but it’s worth sticking to. I truly enjoyed reading this book, and I absolutely adored the characters.
