Something about this book felt very timeless with the handling of orphans and the picture of the foster care system. Despite the fact this was fiction it felt very. Is real and true to my understanding of the foster care system. I was very enthralled throughout and was surprised by the ending. I really did not expect it to go the way that it did. It was awesome to be so surprised at every turn. This was an excellent example of a young adult thriller that I cannot recommend enough. The main character was interesting as a narrator since we were led to believe that we should not believe what she says. I am a big fan of an unreliable narrator. The way that the narrator is beat down by her circumstances is hard to read about, but the resolution was so satisfying.
