You had me at 'Gothic' and 'Country Estate'!
This cover initially grabbed my attention MONTHS ago with its simplicity and foreboding hint towards a plot setting of finery and horror. But the plot being a Gothic Thriller/Horror set in a wealthy estate is what sold me.
If you ever want to see me beg on my hands and needs with tears in my eyes, dangle a mystery set in a mansion and watch me weep.
This trope of possible haunted house or paranormal entity lurking in the shadows has me HOOKED! Is there ghost? Was someone murdered? Was it the daughter? Was it the son? Or was it the husband?!
It's always the husband.
