At first glance, the cover of The Companion seemed ominous and devious. I don’t often read horror because I never thought that a person could be scared by reading a book versus a movie. Well folks, I’m here to tell you that I was WRONG!

While reading this novel about a young girl, Margot, who experienced a tragedy that I wouldn’t wish on my worse enemy: I was complexed. I initially thought, this is a fast pace novel, which is a plus for me. As I continued, I began to worry about the mental capacity of Margot. Only to reached the last chapter available (for first glance) and felt the hairs on the back of neck stand up.

That was an unexpected twist. I am impatiently ready to know what is next. Wow! So far, The Companion was beautiful written with perfectly timed twists. This is an YA Horror for sure.
