This sounds very suspenseful not like a typical horror novel that you know outright will scare you. To me it is the mystery behind the events that makes a great horror novel. Margot is one unlucky teenager after she gets into a car crash with her sisters and parents who is the lone survivor.
She gets shipped off to an “orphanage” called Palmer house to live for only a few days until a mysterious family shows up to”adopt” her. The Sutton family is not only rich they are not strangers after Mr. Sutton was rescued by Margot’s father. He feels a debt to her but they are not welcoming her to live with them solely on the kindness of their hearts.
They have a ulterior motive one that is surely to throw Margot’s life into even further chaos. They have only two requests of her respect the house and to become a companion for their beautiful daughter Agatha they want a “friend” for her only she isn’t a typical teenager but more like a doll frozen in her head. Was it depression that made her this way or was it the bacterial infection that Mrs. Sutton claims she got or is it something more sinister then that? What happened to Agatha what secrets is the family hiding? and what exactly is Margot’s role as Agatha’s companion? I have a feeling she will wished she never went to live in this deserted mansion with a family with hidden motives...
