I haven't read a Katie Alender book that hasn't grabbed me. The Companion is no different. This one is about an orphan that gives me creepy gothic horror book vibes. You got an orphan, a eccentric wealthy family that takes Margot in to be their daughter's companion, a cute boy ( possible romance?) and a lost diary. I'm thinking the famil isn't going to be her happy new home. The Companion seems to have the right about of spooky night terror vibes to make me jump at every little thing while reading it, and that makes this horror book girl so happy! Anytime a book involves a mysterious diary of someone who has passed away I'm hooked. I really am routing for Margot and hope she can put 2 and 3 together before it's to late. The cover still has me wondering how it relates and I can't wait to read the whole book.

Really when it's a Katie Alender book you just can't go wrong. I have loved every single book and own them all. So happy she graced us with a new read and I think it is well worth the wait!
