Intriguing beginning
The premise is reasonable. Where I'm from, orphanages are uncommon, far more likely for Margot to be steered into foster care.
The phrase on page 5 "technically an orphanage (which made me technically an orphan?), ..." is just wrong. Her dad driving off the road into a ditch and killing everyone but Margot made her an orphan.
Sometimes the language doesn't seem to ring true for a teen, at least if the story is to be taken as contemporary.
Minor niggles, I'd finish this book because I would be hopeful for Agatha, and Margot. Also, the gothic overtones from the flap suggest that it would be an interesting story.
The cover, a spoonful of pins? I don't get it but perhaps it's an element later in the novel.
