At first, I was thinking that this book was a little too.... cliche. Girl has loving parents who die tragically and now she is an orphan. Isn't this how every Disney movie starts? But once she gets to the house, it becomes clear that this is NO Disney movie. Each chapter ends in the way that makes you want to read on. Further, the main character's reactions are akin to something that I would probably think too, so she seems relatable. The cover is slightly weird and gives me no indication of what it is about, but it is creepy so I guess it goes with theme.
