The very last sentence of the preface before chapter one " Three months later, I was still waiting" opens up a door of possibilities. Why is Margot still waiting to die? Her life has been tragic and unreal. Her family dies and she is the lone survivor, she is a teenager in an orphanage and she has nightmares.
