Sara Wren, American Artist, recluse, a woman with a mysterious past. Trying to keep her secrets buried, in comes a journalist with no boundaries determined to expose it all. There's a mixture of historical fiction, horror, mystery, with LGBTQ+ and feminist themes. It's creepy, brooding, and very much thrilling. There is a lot to take in. The atmosphere, an abundance of intriguing characters, impending doom as you navigate throughout the story, dysfunctional family relationships, and all centered around this prominent artist. It was a bonus for me to have an artist main character. If you've ever read Dietland by Sarai Walker then you are familiar with her writing style and you quickly realize it's all too easy to fall in love with her work. I'm really pleased with this one and will gladly relish it until the need for another Sarai Walker book haunts my thoughts once more.

Highly recommend.
