"The Cherry Robbers" by Sarai Walker had me hooked from the first paragraph to the last of the "first impression" posted on the Bookishfirst website!
Ms. Walker does a tremendous job of transitioning from present day to the 1950's (which at times feels like the Victorian 1800's, loved how this was accomplished)! Each character is well defined, and gives the reader great detail into their personalities.
The first 53 pages of this novel sets the tone for Sylvia Wren's aka Iris Chapel's story. What tragedies bestowed her family, as well as herself? I look forward to reading the remainder of this novel to find out!
