Impressed, intrigued, utterly beguiled. Take your pick! There is something so tauntingly mesmerizing about this story. Both timelines, the elder and the younger, Sylvia and Iris, are equally captivating, detailed, beautifully fraught with pain and nuance.

There’s a mystery lurking in the wrinkles of time, something deeply personal and sorrowfully haunting. It reads very much like a tragic fairy tale full of eerily gothic suspense and curses real or imagined.

The real life nods to Sarah Winchester and her determination to appease the ghosts at the core of her family’s wealth and the renowned, reclusive, New Mexican artist Georgia O’Keefe are wonderful additions that make the novel feel grounded in reality.
