Ife is a scholarship student at a prestigious boarding school called Nithercott. Nithercott School has its own urban legend called The Changing Man. Legend has it, when The Changing Man is around you can smell dampness and petrichor and see strange flora growing. Students’ personalities also change.
Right before Ife arrived at the school a boy went missing and his brother, Ben, had been tirelessly looking for him. Ife joins Ben and another classmate, Bijal, to help unravel the mystery of The Changing Man.
This book was entertaining enough. I was able to listen to it on audiobook and it kept my attention. I was also thankful for the help with pronunciation! However, it was just ok for me. It wasn’t spooky like I thought it was going to be, but I’m also not the target audience for the book. It’s a middle grade/young adult horror or mystery book and it just didn’t deliver for me.
