The Changing Man is a YA thriller about a girl who investigates a decades-old legend at her new boarding school. I really enjoyed this one. The first part is general teenage drama associated with being at a new school and the ins and outs of navigating that. Ife really does not seem to want to be at Nithercott School but gets pulled into the drama anyway. It happens. Legend has it that there is a changing man who kidnaps people and when they return they are completely different. The second part really picks up and you will be flying through to figure out the deal with the monster. As far as the characters go, I really liked Bijal and Ife. They were well-written and strong characters. The atmosphere was great, particularly the orange smoke, and the plants left behind were super weird and creepy. The author's writing style made this a quick read.
