The Changing Man by Tomi Oyemakinde was an interesting young adult paranormal novel that I flew through. I did feel like the novel picks up a lot at the mid-way point and then it was intensely interesting. I liked the characters and the boarding school setting made me pick this up. I liked the world the author crafted and how they left it open to return to it and our main characters. The cover was also a big reason I requested to get sent this novel and it did not disappoint. I was not expecting the direction the story and main plot took but enjoyed the ride to get to the big reveal.
I am giving it a 3.5-4ish rating because of the first half being a bit slower compared to the second half. I also did struggle a bit connecting with our main character on some of her actions throughout the novel.
