This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. It gave me Ya the empty man vibes. I love a a24 sequel speculative ya thriller horror and this one checked all the boxes. Tomi Oyemakinde's writing style is stunning, beautiful, but also haunting and eerie. This book brings on the fear that there is a chill on your neck but cant figure out why.

I loved Adebola as our main character she's just trying to get through a new school but a decades long curse wont let her. I loved seeing her both navigate her new surroundings that already put her on an uneven ground and add in an eerie changing man who may be haunting her classsmates. I loved Bilal and Ben as well and they added so much to this group who just wants to solve what is happening.

I adored the setting as a school setting is just always eerie and there is so much that can happen there. Overall I highly recommend this one.
