I love a spooky novel that starts with a big opening scene, and The Changing Man has one: an apparent murder on the outskirts of campus! It's not clear in the Prologue if something supernatural is at play, but there's definitely something menacing the students of Nithercott School. The tone set within the First Look reminds me a little of The Dead and the Dark by Courtney Gould. I'm interested to see how Ife's connection to the Urban Achievers Program plays into the story. I'm definitely intrigued enough to read more!
