Something Creepy Is In The Woods of Nithercott
While the title, cover, and the Prologue of The Changing Man hooked me into looking forward to a creepy thrill ride, the opening chapter gave me a bit of pause.
Chapter 1 seemed a bit underwhelming and almost immature to me. It lays some groundwork that has potential: we are introduced to an outsider new to an elite prep school where students seem pretty cutthroat and the class clown, whose older brother mysteriously disappeared a month ago.
I'm hopeful that things will pick up as the story delves deeper into what is going on at Nithercott. The pieces seem to be here for a deliciously creepy story as long as it doesn't get too fragmented and distracted with too many irrelevant details. More pages will tell if the tale can change my mind! ;)
