I do enjoy young adult books, on occasion, and the summary sounded interesting. However, the characters came across as much younger. They seemed childish, particularly in the dialogue, but also their personalities. This felt more upper middle grade. I also wasn't a fan of the text speech, though I know this population does use it. The pacing in the sample felt slow. Perhaps it picks up, but it just didn't pull me in as much as I'd hoped.
