Ife has lost her confidence, Ben's brother has died, and there's something weird in the school. Somebody is murdering people in Nitherscott boarding school and people are blaming a local legend, the changing man. I thought the premise was really interesting, however in the excerpt I didn't understand the characters as well as I hoped. Ben is acting very strange for someone whose brother just died and Ife hasn't shown much besides a lack of confidence so far. I think this might be a book that gets better as you go but I wasn't pulled into the story based on the excerpt.
