From the cover alone, I had chills.
Diving right into the mystery during the prologue caught my attention and I couldn't put it down. With the events that happened before our central character, Ife, arrived at the school pulsing in the back of my mind, I couldn't help but be drawn to the tension between her and Ben in the mere interactions they had during class and what lies in store for these two. I loved Ife's inner commentary, as well as the way the author illustrated her struggles with adjusting to life at a new school. I especially loved Ife's made-up language with Zanna and hope we get to learn more about it throughout the book.
The end of the First Look came far too quickly, and I am hooked!
