I am very excited to have this title, because one of my dreams is to be published. This book offers "keeping it real" advice that may indeed be helpful to an aspiring writer.
The author doesn't offer the traditional "canned how-to" experiences. On the contrary it's raw, matter-of-fact writing. Does this book guarantee that that the writer will get published? No, not at all. The book offers advice from the perspective and journey of a writer that has been published. It does not promise that you or your unique (is it?) story will ever be published beyond your own imagination.
I appreciate the candidness of this book. Some people can write, and some people think they can write. This book may have unintended consequences in regard to shining the light on those not quite ready for the trials of becoming published.
