Reading this excerpt brought me back into Professor Sue's apartment where I attended her class last year. New to writing, I was intimidated to be in this intimate space. Within minutes, my fear evaporated as she rattled off - as only she can - many of her flaws and why so many writers give up. Her vulnerability is remarkable. I was welcome.

The piece of advice she gave that I value most is "hang out with people you want to be." I'm buying this book so I can "hang out" with her whenever I need honestly, wit and wisdom.

Sue's desire to help other writers sell their pieces is second to none. She is devoted to her craft and students.

I'm going to place this book upon a shelf between the Bible and Steven King's, "On Writing." The three best books I know!
