I’ve read many of Shapiro’s essays and books and she knows her stuff. I basically moved back to NYC so I could study with her. I’m fortunate to be able to do that. If you can’t but you want to write and get published then this book is a must!
She breaks down each part of the process of writing and getting published in magazines and newspapers. She gives ideas on what to write about, what she’s seen work (over 30 years of experience). Pitch letters, cover letters, who will consider what etc.
Shapiro is so generous to share her massive amounts of knowledge and experience. She gets it, how important sharing information is key. There is no criticism of judgement, she freely passes on what she knows. Love this woman/writer/teacher. And I LOVE the cover.
