This book is amazing. The advice is spot on, easy to follow, and really clear. I’ve read several writing guides but really feel this is one of the best. Super practical and offers real world guidance that you don’t often receive in a creative writing program but that you desperately need if you actually want to be able to write for a living. The author describes being told that creative writing wasn’t a vocational course, so the actual business of getting yourself published wasn’t taught- just the art is taught. But we don’t churn out Doctor’s at our universities without telling them how to actually do the job they are paying to learn to do. Why do we expect creative writing students to work it al out for themselves?
