The Brilliant Death has a very interesting premise and magic system, the setting was very atmospheric and well described, it was easy to imagine the places they were at, bu the characters were just ok.
Teo was a good protagonist, she is strong, brave and smart, and Cielo was kind of cute and at first was very intriguing. His chemistry with Teo is natural and believeable, but sitll I felt the romance was too rushed, they didn't knew each other for long and they were already horny.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was spectacular, but I'll admit I fell asleep once or twice while listening, still I managed to understand the plot.
By the end I was a little bit bored, but I will give the sequel a try.
