In just the first few chapters I've been able to read on Bookish First, I'm already liking the main character Teo di Sangro. Teo is obviously such a badass and you do not mess with her. She is a Strega who can turn people into everyday objects. This book has such intrigue and is the first book I've started reading that includes gender fluid characters. I like the diversity of this story and the energy that pops through the words and makes me want to read more!
The writing uses figurative language and imagery, which builds the world so well. The writing perfectly balances magic and politics, and I can't wait to see book in person because what was provided didn't have maps. I love when books come with maps!
