The premise of the story was good with Teo being a strega in a land where magic was not allowed. I mean she had such a cool power, being able to turn anyone, usually her father's enemies into inanimate objects to stop them from being a threat. Then her father is poisoned and she must go to the Capo, instead of her brothers (the elder who is a cruel one and the younger, who only wants to get an education). Luckily she chases after Cielo, a shapeshifting, gendershifting strega who can help her change and take revenge on the Capo.

The magic was cool. I mean it was awesome to read about magic that give memories to other, and poison touch, but I got a bit tired of all the emotions of Teo as she changed from boy to girl and back again and I felt that the author tried to tie too many things together with magic and trying to overthrow the Capo and also fight other strega and the whole mess with her family dynamics. It was pretty good, but not the best.
