Teo is a daughter in a mafia type family, who has the magical ability to turn people into objects. She finally meets another person with magic just as her father is poisoned by a letter. This was just messy to me, and the use of magic seems forced into the story instead of occurring naturally. Also, Teo claims to love her father deeply, but he comes off as cold-blooded - not just to his enemies, but his family too.
