Immediately sucked in to a world of shape-shifting magic, along with the impending danger of crime mob families
I had seen the cover for this book before now, and heard the ‘brilliant’ title, but it wasn’t until I got to start reading the beginning of this amazing story, that I knew I’d have to get my hands on ‘The Brilliant Death’.
Right away, the reader is thrown headfirst into a world where not only will there be magic (shape-shifting), and a long journey, but also where competing ‘crime’ families try to lay claim to a Kingdom. Since there is also the twist of ‘gender-bending’ to the shape-shifting, this seems to be covering new ground, and is immediately fascinating and quite beautiful to read.
The groundwork for this story, the beautiful and fluid writing, and even simply the gorgeous cover, altogether mean I have to read and review this book. It looks fabulous from the get-go.
