A fascinating premise with a strong start

The editor's note about this being an Italy-inspired setting with Miyazaki magic is the very first thing grabbed me (after that stunning cover, of course!). This is such a unique premise with the protagonist able to turn enemies into objects, and I am absolutely interested. The writing seems strong so far and I look forward to seeing how the rest of the story plays out.
