*Mini review* I enjoyed the first 30 pages so much I can't wait to read the book. This is well written and engaging right from the start. The author, Kim Richardson, has taken something true (Blue people from Kentucky) that is rarely dealt with in fiction and crafted a story around it. The main figure Cussy (the Book Woman) is sympathetic and I found myself really caring about her right away. Not every author can create that. It is set in depression era Kentucky and Cussy has a WPA job as a travelling librarian, who is already so much more to the mountain folk, she is friend, counselor and obviously cares very deeply about each one. I'll update the review when I have a chance to finish the book.
