What a fantastic first look at this 1930's inspired historical fiction novel. I love that nineteen year old "Cussy" is a strong willed independent young woman with a love for books. I had never heard of the Fugates of Troublesome Creek before and found their genetic condition fascinating. I'm very excited to read more about the Pack House Library Project and Cussy Mary Carter.
