Having heard of the Pack Horse Library project a number of years ago, those women hold a special place in history. Their willingness to put themselves in harm's way by traveling up and down mountains and battling prejudice as old as the hills and suspicion as deep as the holler and providing everyone the opportunity to learn more about the world around them was a monumental task, and these women rose to the occasion.
