Rarely am I as impressed with the first few paragraphs of a book as I was with this one. Opening on such a powerful, heartwrenching scene, it immediately drew me in. I can tell the characters are well-developed and already I want to know more about Cussy and her life. The female librarians on horseback have always fascinated me and I can't wait to read more about this world!!
