Had me researching from the start

For me, the hallmark of any good work of historical fiction is if it sends me to Google wanting to know more. Just from reading the book description, even before I read the excerpt, I had looked up the blue people of KY. Seeing as that is something I have never heard of before, this book already has me wanting to know more. Then I read the little bit of the excerpt, and the writing style and plot have me hooked.
