Wow. The opening scene is powerful and vivid. And the blue-skinned people of Kentucky is intriguing and unique. Cussy is an interesting character, and I like how she stands out--not only because of the color of her skin, but because she is strong and forward moving. The cover is wonderful, and any book about books catches my attention.
