Reading this short version made me wish I had read more as a child so I could have felt the way Sarah did about books, as she devours them. Sarah is the first main character who lives in Dove Pond. She has this ability that is different and wonderful.
Then we meet Grace and Hannah as the youngins and Mrs. G. The story moves to when they are older and their lives have changed again when they move to Dove Pond. Grace takes a job as the town clerk and moves into an old house that Mrs. G remembers from time to time, since she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. And after reading some of the other reviews, the story starts to get more interesting.
I really enjoyed this story as it drew me in by the descriptions of the characters feelings, their abilities and the scenery.
