"It's odd --- when you look back, things seem simpler, but they weren't. ...When it's a memory, you already know the outcome, so we believe it was an easier time. Looking forward is much more uncertain, and so feels more complicated."

Reading #TheBookCharmer was a nice change of pace for me.  With it's small town setting and the bit of magical realism, this book reminded me of a comfort food.  While #KarenHawkins touches on some tough topics, the overall feel good attitude of this story really warmed my heart.  The importance of family and friends shines through.
