The cover is compelling but the premise of talking books seems odd at best. Books have their own voices in a sense considering the stories in their pages, so I’m interested to see what the author is doing with the concept of books that literally (or at least telepathically) speak. There is a sentimental vibe that I got in the First Impression excerpt, but I’d still be willing to give this book a try as I’m intrigued with the incorporation of magical realism.
