As a child, Grace felt it was her responsibility to watch over her sister Hannah. After being shuttled between foster homes, she finally found a real home with Mamma G and was able to complete her education and find a position that she liked. Hannah, however, found herself pregnant and was never able to accept responsibility. With Hannah,s death and Mamma G’s declining health, Grace once again finds herself responsible for others, including Hannah’s daughter Daisy. How she faces that responsibiity and the role that Sarah Dover, her neighbor and town librarian, plays in her life makes a story that I am eager to explore. Books speak to every person who loves to read, but not in the same manner that Sarah experiences. How she applies this ability is an unusual twist.
