This book seems somewhat interesting. I enjoyed the quirky characters with all their own idiosyncrasies. I also think it would be nice to read about a character who lives in a town her family helped found. What little plot there was just doesn't grab me. Also, it's a small gripe but a 7-year-old shouldn't be reading young adult. The books are written for teenagers and even if she's been reading since she was 3 there's plenty of middle grade that should hold her attention for adventure and dragons.
