You can always tell a good book by the first sentences. With The Book Charmer, I was immediately drawn into the classic and engaging prose of the author. It's like listening to the story told by someone else. Those are the most fun books to read, because you get immersed into the story as you're sitting there, reading and picturing the words in your head. Ha, perhaps that's exactly what the Book Charmer intended - for the readers to gain their own imagery in their heads.

The story is of the Dove family and their unique talents and gifts. There seemed to be some kind of common knowledge and acceptance with these gifts of the girls and everyone just goes along with it. If I was reading a true story, I might have been skeptic. But in the sense of this being a magical fiction story of sorts, I rather liked the concept.

I am eager to read the entire story now after all that has happened!
