This is not all my usual genre, so imagine my surprise to find myself drawn in by the story from the start! I was intrigued in the magical books and felt my heartstrings tugged by the story of the abandoned girls. I have to admit that the switch between timelines jarred me, though, and I would have liked to spend more time with the sisters as kids.
