What a charming story, right from the start! With a hint of magical realism, this novel is sure to be the heartwarming tale of friendship and family. In the first chapters of this book, we learn about the generations of Doves that make up Dove Pond, a quaint Southern town that is so very reminiscent of Stars Hollow in "Gilmore Girls". Through the very descriptive language, I can just picture Sarah and how, as a young girl of only seven-years-old, books began to speak to her and come to life. I can't wait to learn all about Grace Wheeler, as well, and see how these two forge a bond through the charm of this town and community. A lovely summer read, for sure!
