Reason number one: It is set back in time during the Renaissance. I love historical fiction novels and the Renaissance is my second favorite time period after the Victorian era.
Number two: It is written by an author who has written many cool things. Is it bad to be biased? Because I am definitely biased. I'm sorry. I know that I should never be biased. I just can't help myself.
Number three: The writing is beautiful. The writing of a book can make or break it for a reader. This writing makes it for me. It adds, not distracts from the story.
And...a bonus number four. I like the cover. I'm a superficial reader. I won't refuse to read a book with an ugly cover, but I won't lie and say that a beautiful cover doesn't help sell a novel for me.
