I liked this book, both because of the historical aspects and the added bit of magic with Hassan and his magical maps and his and Fatima's search for the mystical land of the the Bird King. I really did not like the inquisitor that chased after Hassan, trying to arrest and destroy him, just because he could do such marvelous maps. That part was a bit hard to read because I did not like her hatred and intolerance (even if she was under the influence of another force). The Djinn that popped up now and then were quite interesting but I wasn't a fan of the ending so much and the battle near the end was a bit confusing. It was still an enjoyable story though and I am glad that I got the chance to read it.
