This book definitely had a hard time choosing what genre it wanted to be a part of, so decided to be a little bit of everything. The worm in the eye thing to me, seemed to be nothing more than a disfigurement in the color of the eye as is seen occasionally, but apparently means something more in this case. There are talking dogs, who are not dogs, that can do something other than you would think and then disappear. The book is rather slow most of the time, but yet still moves on at a steady pace on a march into chaos towards the ending. At times, it was tempting to put the book down and walk away. Sometimes that was the best course of action to come to terms with all of the strange things going on. In short: this book is a mixed bag of feelings but worth a chance if you want to read something different.
