I've been a huge fan of G. Willow Wilson's work for a long time, in this sounds like a fascinating addition to her body of work. I love the idea of this magical mapmaker, who can draw maps of places he has never seen and create doors to places he hasn't been. I think the relationship between the two main characters is interesting, and I'm curious to see how it evolves later in the novel, as the plot thickens. The setting is unique and interesting. I just think this was a great start and I'm so curious to read what happens next.
